I have been trying something new to me with my aluminum fascia. I have seen guys that have rollers and put some beads on their fascia that not only adds a little but of design but keeps it from waving at you as you drive by. My dad has a bead roller he uses for floorpans in his hotrods that I tried, but it didn't work. What do you use? There is only one guy that I know of that has one and it is so old we can't read any names on it. Our supply house is worthless and still swears to me that there is no such thing as a paslode cordless staple gun.

If you used a brake everyday you wouldn't need any of that stuff. I can see where someone that only does a few jobs a year needs these extra's to make up for lack of skills.
The cut-off would be the only tool I'd use but like patrick said it's 1 1/2" away from where it needs to be.

You flat cap, I bend my channel into my board with a crown. It's like comparing apples and oranges.
You are the only reason I said "one" of the fastest and not "the" fastest. You'd most likely be my only compition just going by the quality of posts in the siding forum.

I think the extras are nice. I grew up with a windy city, I hate cutting coil with a knife, hate it. I made quite a few things with my brake for roofs and siding, door, window, freeze board flashings. I worked for a few years in a welding shop doing all sorts of metal fabrication, bending, shearing rolling blah blah blah. I think the extras that you can get with these brakes makes them much more user friendly and more enjoyable. Pardon me for liking things that makes my life/job simpiler and more enjoyable.

I hate that mid America dentil moulding. It doesn't look authentic at all. The seems are nasty looking and i've just never seen anything similar to that around here from the old days. I think it looks funny where it bumps into your brick flashing.
I also hate white on white on white. Why even put dentil mould on if you pick such a boring theme. I think trim should always be white and the siding should contrast it. White siding only looks good as accents on a brick fasod.
I also would have to put some sort of profile in that brick flashing.
Just my .02. Just what I see. I'll find some pictures and you can critiqe me.

Hey guys, i have put in over 10000 windows and done thousands of siding jobs that required custom aluminum. I have my brake mounted in my trailer on hinges so when i need it it just swings up and i put braces under it at both ends. The cut off tool is the best thing you could buy for the brake. Is it that hard to add 1.5 inches to your trim?
One way you can strengthen your fascia is buy hemming the top side of the fascia. That works pretty well too. If you do mostly 6 inch fascia why not just buy it?

The premade looks like dog****. Only people without brakes buy that stuff around here. It's cheaper to bend it yourself anyway.
Just because you have installed and capped 10000 windows doesn't mean you can trim a house out properly and efficiently. I've seen many window vets that I would let come close to one of my jobs with a brake.
First of all, i dont need your work, I am booked out till June. I do very high quality work that i will put up against anybody in the world, anytime. Second, i have three Tapco brakes and thirteen guys that all know how to use them. If the factory made stuff is junk then why i am hanging it on $500,000 new houses? It is all about the installer and the quality he brings to the job, IMO.

Patrick and I where just having a discussion. This window installer who's installed 10,000 windows and 5000 siding jobs told us to go buy prebent fascia...lol
Thats all.
I am not telling anybody to buy pre-bent Fascia. When we do a remodel, we will bend all fascia and coverage as needed. I was reffering to new construction homes, where the fascia has been supplied by the General Contractor.

i remember the worst task i ever had, i was working for a guy many moons ago and this customer of his wanted the room addition covered in coil stock (HO's picked out the colors) so literally this entire thing is facade in aluminum coil stock...pita bending all these pieces with reverse hems so the panels iterlocked so no water could get in, and god help you if you locked one together that was messed up since it was locked and required tearing off 3-4 connected pieces and redoing a slug of it:furious:

Here's how I did some arches tom a few years back. Best way I've came up with.
