20 Volt Nailers (Dewalt)

I've had the 20v framer for a while and use it a lot. It's so handy to grab for framing in an opening or strapping a ceiling. It's a bit heavy. Also you have to let it wind up a bit to help sink bigger nails and not let it bounce back. I leave it on the larger nail setting all the time. I found it doesn't like senco paper collated 8d ring nails so trying the dewalt brand next. No problem with the senco 12d nails though. I had Paslode and hated the leaky gas issue when you let the guns sit.

Just an fyi for 20v framer owners....if it isn't firing deep or at all after some use they sell a spring kit to help bring the pin back up each time.

Also...do not use any oil or lube of any kind ever. I did...cause I like to ignore stickers on the gun that say not to. Ended taking the gun completely apart and giving it a thorough cleaning because of it. It now works good as new again so it wasn't a bad thing but I could've avoided all that.

I heard August 7th I Think.


I hesitate to order from Acmetools. IIRC, some folks who ordered flexvolt from them last year had to wait a long time, while other people were able to buy it from HD soon after it came out.

I love my 18V xrp Naylor's as well. They have been nearly Flawless for me. I am just ready to move to the 20V battery platform.

The 16 GA and 18 GA guns fit in a tstak case.

Just tried my old 18v DC618 (18g, type 1) with a battery adapter, and it seemed to work fine... Other than confusing info from the internet, any other sources about it not working? Will it eventually cook the brains of the gun?

So, these released a couple weeks ago. Found a store with them in stock today. Picked up the 15 and the 18, happy as can be so far.

The 18 wasn't as big and awkward in use as I feared it would be. Only used it for some 1/2" jamb extensions and three pieces of casing. I've been using the newer Dewalt and Bostich nailers for a few years and liked the nose and nail placement better.

Used the 15 a bit more. Ditto on the nose and nail placement. Sunk every nail, left smaller holes than the Hitachi I've been using. I'd have to pace myself nailing with air only using a 1010n so the cordless was actually faster. Sunk nails in 3/4" oak fine.

If I go back to trimming houses I'll pull out the JC10 and air nailers again, but for door installs that I'm doing now these are perfect.
