I have a job coming up with 15' ceilings and will need to put up some walls and drywall. Right now I have one bakers scaffold that has served me good. But I will need to either get another bakers to stack or get a couple sets of scaffolding. The bakers would be cheaper since I already have one but the scaffolding won't be too much more for a couple sections. Just trying to figure out what would be more useful in the future?

That was my first thought also since I can get another baker and outriggers for about 250. Another 200 for the top guard rail if I want to add that also.

It would be about 500 for two sets of scaffolding and a set of wheels. The planks would add up fast at 120 each. Plus the guard rail if I add that.

Just trying to figure out which one would be more useful down the road.

I would go with the bakers unless you plan on going over 15 feet or there abouts or doing outside work.

I think you guys are right. I'll just get another Baker and wheels for now. I do mostly inside and while there have been times a nice wide scaffold platform would have been nice I think the second Baker will be more useful. The one I have now turns into a moving storage rack on the job usually. So if I have two maybe one will be clear to use. Or it will end up like the first one and I'll have to storage carts.

Then I'll keep my eye out for a deal on some used scaffolding to have around for when needed.

Thanks

Just get the 12' tower package, two sets, outriggers, wheels, guard rails etc.

I didn't even look into that since I already have one baker, was just going to add another. But just looked and the depot has the package for 500. Buying another baker, wheels, and the guard rails is 450 so I might as well do the package and get another bakers for 50 bucks. Thanks for the suggestion.

What is the height limit with the Baker when using outriggers?
I would suggest that you slowly purchase used scaffolding as you find and can afford to. 5 ft decks are available and shorter braces so regular scaffolding can be built in a 5' x 5' footprint.

I have the triple tower set up in my stairwell.
Top platform is 16' 2" off the floor.

Use small outriggers for double tower, large outriggers for triple tower according to manufacturers paperwork.

So for me the question is what have you needed in the past ?, if stageing is not some thing you use often why not rent ?.
As you get older those hights get taller and you may wish not to climb the side of stageing like a monkey.

In the past I haven't needed too much as far as staging. My one Baker's scaffold along with a couple 12 foot planks and a bunch of ladders have done what I needed. I do mostly residential but in the last couple years have been getting more and more commercial jobs. I used to do a lot of commercial ten years ago when I worked for someone and we had every kind of scaffolding and tons of it. But we did bigger buildings so a little different as to what we used the most. I don't mind buying the stuff, that's the fun part of the job when you get to go tool shopping. Was just trying to figure out what would be more useful down the road for future jobs and see what others thought. I was thinking that a couple sets of scaffolding would be better since they can be used for jobs Baker's can't and I already have one Baker that has served my needs so far. But as others have said I think for now I'm just going to order the two story Baker set because it'll be better for most jobs I do. Then start looking for some used scaffolding to have around for when it's needed.

Do you guys with two story Baker's use a ladder to get up or just climb the sides?

Might have to look into a self retracting lanyard also just to be on the safe side in case anyone shows up.

Call your local rental company. You would be surprised how cheap it is to rent pipe scaffold wheels and planks
It is a lot safer to work on pipe scaffolding bakers. Also for hanging
Not to mention the fact that they will deliver and pick up
