with the starter included,i find vinyl lineal/solid pvc a wash cost wise
I agree.... plus, the vinyl lineals are a lot harder to get exactly right at the corners IMHO.
 
This thread brought back some memories. I had forgotten about the wide faced j. That stuff sucks. Floppy joints and it rides in at the middle. Only used it a few times, we have done a lot of lineals over the years. They look nice when done correctly, though I always worried about water getting behind them.
 
Here's a shot of 2.5 J we used on the last door install...my nephew likes it, I'm more of a PVC guy though.
