I have a Titan 440i that I use quite frequently, its had a few issues before but I was always able to take it apart and fix the problem- not this time. When I went to clean it after a staining project fluid would come out the outlet line at a decent pace, but it wont fully gain pressure in the hose. I have taken it apart, cleaned everything inside the piston assembly and the filter but it still won't pressurize. Any suggestions?

Have you oiled it? I had a similar issue the first couple of times using it. The button was green, machine fully pressurized but nothing coming out. You gotta fill that thingy up with oil and then depress the bottom on the front about three times. Sometimes it's your tip. Rotate it around and "blow out the clog". Make sure your are using the proper tip for the viscosity of your fluid. We just got a titan 440 last month and we had quite the learning curve. My advice, call up Titan tomorrow and ask for Dale. He spent an hour on the phone with me, giving me in the ins and outs to that machine.

*Check me out sounding like a painting professional :whistling

I have had that problem with my 640 on a few occasions. Replaced the packing and worked great. One slight little scar on the plastic stuff can cause you not to be able to build up full pressure.

Oh... one other side note... I try to avoid spraying stain with the Titan. I have an el cheapo Spray Tech 1420 I use for that. I have had bad luck with certain stains actually causing the packing to get kinda rubberized when spraying it. It shortens the lifespan of them quickly... or that has been my experience any way.

Very paint pro! Is it just the phone number on Titans website? Thank you for the quick response!
No problem, glad I could be of some help. I used this (1-800-526-5362) number. If you don't get em, try contacting your paint rep with Sherwin Williams or BMoore. They might have an idea. Hopefully they are there tomorrow. Titan isn't there on weekends. But no worries, it's a great machine and should last you an entire lifetime. You have to learn your machine though. Now I can hear the difference in pressuring, it's weird.

True. Dale (the awesome rep) also said that any paint should be watered down just a little bit to help with flow. I'm not sure if this applies to stain, but it applied to my proclassic.

Good to know! I just oiled it, clear thinner is running through the gun and priming hose now, but still won't gain pressure. Both inlet and oulet balls in the piston are cleaned and moving freely, filters clean, hose isn't clogged... I am just stumped! Will call titan tomorrow though definitely.

Yes, packing or regulator clogged
I did not see your post about the packing until now, that just might be the issue.
You are welcome..

and if life has taught me one thing it is to always keep the packing for all my sprayers in the truck at all times. Nothing like getting halfway through the day and out it goes...
