Pin thanks I'm looking for exterior . I was looking at grk and kreg I can't see why they wouldn't work. #8 is #8 the only minor detail I see is under the pan washer head the grk has a slight bulge. Also can use grk in other visible apps because there not blue.

I only use square drive for pocket screws. Screw stays on the end of the bit better making me go faster. I use GRK screws for most other applications but the star just doesn't stay on the end of the bit as well as the square when doing pocket screws. Just my opinion.

well this is not exactly what you asked but what the heck .been using these http://www.screwsolutions.com/Bronze-Star-One-Fourth-Inch-Lag_c_110.html for the large kreg tool ,the one using 1/2" bit .I can get longer length screws then kreg carries which sometimes i want .
this company carries a smaller shanked screw they call a truss screw , Not sure if they would work ,I have plenty of them and will try it .but I believe they are have a thinner shank .

The GRK pan screws and cabinet screws are two completely different screws. The pan screw will fit pocket holes perfectly and the cabinet screws will not work at all with pocket holes, they are designed for hanging cabinets not constructing them.

Here is a link of the Pan screws I use with pocket holes.
