I'm getting sick and tired of these idiots keep calling me. It's always from a different number to so it's impossible to block them. Any tips for getting them to stop. It's getting beyond annoying now. I'm even on the national do not call list too but these lot still call 3-4 times a week.

Add yelp to that list as well all the "capital funding" companies. I answer all calls that come into our office so it's pretty much impossible to screen for them. Home Adv. calls from local numbers too. In the beginning it was a little annoying but now its becoming a hindrance to running the business and they never want to get off the phone.

I'd start asking them for money. Do a very hard-pressed begging act about how you need gas for your truck and you don't want to spend your own money. Just keep asking, "Where's my money? You guys OWE me MAAAAANNNNN!!!!!" Then if they say, "Get a job" I'd start asking them for a job.

Two years ago, I bought a $6 app for my phone that lets me block any number or any partial number I choose. It hangs up on at least twenty calls a week. I can't tell you how many times it has saved me from putting down what I'm doing, taking off my work glove, digging around for my phone, and answering it only to tell someone to get f#$&$d.

I would buy it over and over and over again. Paid for itself many times over.

It also has a shared block list with everyone else who uses it, so there are tens of thousands of numbers on there. I have mine go to voicemail rather than straight blocking it, because we do get calls from out of state property managers on occasion.

Even when it's a local area code, it's almost always an unusual exchange (2nd three numbers) so we block that part.

App is called Call Control

Just act like they're a real customer calling.

"Sure, I can give you a price on that. Do you have a set of plans drawn up already? Have you broken ground yet? Do you already have permits? How are you financing this project? What is your expected finish date? Gas or electric appliances?"

Let 'em know they're talking to a contractor who gets paid to ask these questions, not some schmuck that wants to be taken advantage of.

We just started getting a bunch of calls from them about the time you posted this. But they are calling on my husband's cell and not the business line. I don't even know how they got that number. My husband told them "Oh! Am I glad you called! I have more work coming in than I can handle and I'm needing some help. I'd have to pre-qualify you of course, but maybe you could help out." I guess the lady didn't really know what to say and told him "Well we've never had that situation before. I'm not sure what to tell you." LOL... they haven't called him back, but now the email spam folder is filling up fast.
