In NY you have to wait 3 business days before you can start working. Well what constitutes a business day? I have been known, to, frequently work week ends as well as week days, especially to meet deadlines. To me, a Saturday is no different than a Wednesday...

You should specify that in your contract as to what specifies a business day. Like 3 days (72hrs)
If you ever go to court, the court uses your contract either for or against you, depending apon how it is written.

We review all the problems we encounter and put them on a list. Next pring of the contract we include any "issues" that may have come up.
I have had my contract hold up a bunch of times so far, newest clause was: " the client has to pay for my attorney fees should litigation arise as a result of the agreement"".

It don't matter if you work 24/7... Contract being a legal document and the 3 day rule was created for consumer protection, and must be included in every contract.
Therefore this -3 day rule clause- being enforced as a legal clause in the court of law... So you can make your own business days as you see it fit, including the Holidays, and even if you put this in your contract and it happens this go to court... you will lose.

Business day is being recognized Monday to Friday and excluding public holidays and weekends, so no matter how you or anyone will try to put it, it is what it is.

This is straight forward. A business day is Monday through Friday. If you sign a contract on Friday, you will have to wait until Wednesday to start the job.

However I am curious, under New York law, does the day you sign the contract count as the first business day?
