That is the first time I ever seen them. You found that on this is Carpentry? The only problem I have is reaching over the lower cabinet to set the uppers. It puts may back in a awkward position.
I hate setting base cabinets before uppers. You run the risk of bumping into them & even if you're wearing a vest instead of bags, you can still damage them. Plus, it's a much further reach into the tops of the uppers to drive screws when you're that extra foot away.

I use a tranny jack stand from Harbor Frieght. I just mount a small piece of 2x8x12" to the top.
Works great! It's heavy and stable, fully adjustable, gets close to wall, fine adjust and plenty of pressure to push up if needed to adjust. Always set uppers first and crowns.

The tranny jack is in and out quickly, walls done.
If you have to break away for a minute, no problem it ain't going anywhere.
Just offering what works great for me...take away what you want...

Not going to lug that around, Like Greg I have both T-Jacks

One thing a I did see omce was the installer made a lift from some 2x4s, a hinge, hook and eye and a carpeted piece of plywood at the top. He set the cabs on it and pushed the thing straight locked it with the hook and eye all in a few seconds. He only did new work, no shims, a cheap 2' level

you can get the harbor frieght type and cut to any size . they are not as strong as the 3rd hand .i always have at least one 3rd hand in my truck . i find them very handy for many projects .they can give me a chance to align things and consider before screwing or nailing stuff together .1 out of 20 uses has anything to do with cabinets .
