That was a special situation where I was making some cuts on large format tile and the tile was hanging off the end of the table. Plus, I was leaning wet tile against the trays. I wasn't overly concerned, I use a rubber sheet on the floor. The system captures most of the spray and drips.

Some of that water was snow tracked in on work boots as well. :jester:

I first made the system to tile a second floor master bathroom. I had the saw set up on an unfinished cherry floor. Not a single drop of water made it onto the wood. ;)

One drop? Please.... I've used the Dewalt, and it is a very nice saw, and does a very good job of containing the spray. BUT, it is over priced and under powered.

I don't care how well a saw contains the spray, if you're cutting large format and the tile hangs over the edge, you are going to get drips on the floor.

Also, any wet saw throws a mist into the air, that mist is going to settle somewhere in the form of dust. Customers get concerned, admittedly maybe overly concerned, when they see that mist falling everywhere.

My customers love my wet tent, that's all I care about. ;)

I tell ya, what a tough crowd.

Just got myself a new Dewalt saw today. Compared to my first generation ridgid 10", it is a dream with the water containment. Depending on the size of the tile, any saw leaks. I have yet to use a saw better with this issue than the Dewalt.

I don't use a tent. I bought a large shower pan liner and surround the edges with scrap 2x4. This catches all runoff and is relatively cheap. Overspray is done with painter's plastic and blue tape.

Out of respect, I don't use a tile saw inside a customer's home (for remodel work), as most customers find it too loud or in concept messy. On new construction, my setup is awesome.

Keeps the water cleaner longer, and the pump and hose out of the way. The hose is pushed through a hole in the plug. You can push the hose up as high as you want the water level in the tray, and most of the muck stays in the tray.
I put a piece of cloth over the bucket which filters out most of which otherwise would fall into my pump bucket. It works for me.
