I'm doing a relatively small bathroom floor and shower in travertine. And of course, the most interesting piece, the one the client wants centered in the floor, cracked right down the middle. It is evident that the crack follows the natural line between the darker section and the lighter section, so it split very cleanly. So cleanly, that I can dry fit the two halves together, and the fit is seamless.
My question is, can I use an epoxy or something similar to adhere the two sections together and trust that it will regain structural integrity? The look of the floor will be changed completely if we have to replace this piece with another. Otherwise, it wouldn't be an issue. What do you guys think?
