got kinda slow for the last month, that happens. nothing like a "mystery machine" to brighten your day, for us old scooby doo fans. 5-1/2 bags of fine glass @ 4 hours blast time, #5 nozzel @ 90psi, priming it next day.

did a small job today for a high end sauna company. they wanted a weathered look on the wood so i blasted the crap out of it. they were very impressed with the test pcs and are going to let me know what the customer thinks.
used both soda and 60/100 glass. glass does a cleaner job. nice and smooth when finished, they were just going to clean it and stain.

Re: Come On, Share Some Pictures Of Your Work...

Pretty photogenic job we are on...basically the entire inside of the theater needs to be stripped down to the raw plaster...under the mezzanine is concrete and around the arch over the stage is also concrete..it to will be raw...the owner is said to have over 3 million sq ft of real estate so my work load might have a little pick me up and we might not you just never know.....
One thing I will say about being the cheapest guy...I came in on this bid 3k higher than my next competitor and I was still hired based off of my concern for prep and being able to offer up where to locate certain kinds of presevation tape and best used practices when I was bidding...I also spent over two hours with the owner and my competitor walked in stood around for about 10 min and left...no good in anyones eyes except mine...lol

Re: Come On, Share Some Pictures Of Your Work...

I restored my steam cleaner pressure washer last week as we were getting slammed with cars and shop work...this thing was 12 k new and was falling apart rapidly...so I did the right thing!

This is the motor plate that is mounted on rubber mounts

When I say it is tough to get someone to fade a powder coat job...I'm not kidding but it turned out so nice...looks like fire!!!

Getting there...

New exhaust while it out...

All done...

And I am pretty sure OSHA wouldn't like it either...in the shape of a nasty fine.

Re: Come On, Share Some Pictures Of Your Work...

little job we picked up, ( did it with my new dustless sandblaster... ha ha ha) no its a WIN nozzle weve had.
I found that even if I turned the water down to very little, the water and dust was making a mud pack on the wall under the blasting area. By the end, I figured out that I could turn on the water for just a bit to wet the surface blasting, then water off and blast dry till the area dried up. Then do another area the same.
This kept the dust down, and the mess to.

400 lbs of fine glass, total area 1400 sqft, 5.5 hours blasting.

Very good, business has been doubling every year. Starting to get a set clinentel down. Plus we've been getting it to the small commercial stuff.

I blasted in the ship yard here in Maine for over 12 years. 4 years ago I went on my own. Gave my self a 4 year plan to see if it will go. It's been hard, but finally starting to get a good clientele.
Looking forward to a few more years!

At the ship yard i Worked with many types of media. Nice to try out things with other peoples money...ha ha ha
Was on a team that was trying out new media, that's how I got going with the glass and soda. About the only two you need to do almost anything. But there's a few other media's out there that I'm learning to use in the commercial world.

Thanks to all the guys here on CT it's made the switch from industrial blast on ships to regular blasting easy.

Thanks guys!

But I learned a lot about blasting and matianance on the equipment. Can't have one without the other.
