When I see those cute girls on those videos, living out of vans or travel trailers, the only thing I think of is how great low maintenance women are.

I am not someone who wants to change other's personal philosophy, belief systems, or, how they want to spend their own money( or their parent's money, trust fund, go fund money, money in cup, etc ).

But ! If, like here in CA, cities and do-gooder groups want to spend taxpayer money on these things, that is a whole other story. Are they getting value for the money spent? Do these subsidized tiny homes come under the same rules, permits and regs that everyone else has to abide by? Plus, for these proposed tiny home communities..what about the cost and maintenance of water, power, gas, sewage, fire, police and other infra-structure resources ? Who pays (we all know anyway) for all that? Will these communities place a burden on existing services ?

I am sure someone knows the answers...but are they willing to put that info on the table....hopefully without a "unicorns s--t rainbows" point of view.

Re: Is The Tiny Homes Craze Over?

I think they are going to try the tiny homes thing here for the homeless folks. It does make sense in that it should be low maint, and easy to flip. As long as the utilities are tight.

I am a fan of trailer parks, not exactly tiny homes, but kinda similar....minus all the bikes, and auto parts on the outside.

Yeah, at first I thought it might be for checking gutters - but the rig doesn't appear to have them. Could be for watering those plants on the second story though...

With all these hurricanes maybe this will be the new thing, with a tiny home when you evacuate an area you just bring your home with you....
