Concrete Bartop

Did my first bartop with glass aggregate and 2 sided mirror pieces.

It turned out pretty good. Learned a couple things on it for next time, and Im hoping to close on a full kitchen on Thursday using the same materials, that will make it easier to finish.

Customer was more than happy with this one though. Had to use oversize melamine to keep it seamless, and this was one heavy son of a bitch to haul down the steps... better than up though!

Impressive that you did it in one piece...with a 90 no less. Fine work.

I thought those were formed in place? You carried that thing around the house?

Looks great though.

Re: Concrete Bartop

Proper reinforcement and DRY was the key word for this mix.

The shine is the type of sealer on it. We used a product called Envirotex. Its a 2 part that has a slight build to it.

Not my cup of tea as far as sealers are concerned, but its stain proof and looks great.

Its also easy to reapply if needed for maintenance down the road.

Yeah we did! It was a heavy beast. I put it right around 450lbs. It took two men and a boy.

Guess who had to take the L side where it 90's?

Thanks,

Just wet concrete. When its dry its very light grey, whitish looking, but the sealer penetrates just enough to darken it and keep the wet look.
