winterizations codes

Ok plumbers...can someone explain why winterizations on dry or wet systems shouldn't be completed by licensed pros..or is there any codes requiring this to be completed by you pros? We are seeing a ton of broken radiators and boilers from hacks attempting to "winterize" these and have no clue but are intimidated to tell the clients "no"...sry these are foreclosed homes. We always use licensed and properly credentialed subs so have no problems but I would think somewhere it says that a plumber should complete...if not it should. Imo

people think sending in the cheap guys to add anti-freeze, drain an blow out systems is the way to go but thats the price they pay. and chances are the guys that winterized it cant fix what they broke.

gives us more work later. imo
