Toilet Flange Extender

I'm doing a bath remodel and the tile is 1/2 to 3/4 inch higher then the toilet flange. I recommended a toilet flange extender. My plumber was against the extender and suggested double up the wax ring. I spoke to another plumber and he suggested double wax ring too. I don't think an extra wax ring will solve the problem.

Any advice please!!
