Shower Drain Help


the customer have a 2nd floor bath shower,it is customer build not shower kit, and there is leaking on the firs floor ceiling under the shower base,
they call me ,i went to check and found the shower drain is just a piece of 1.5" abs pipe go through the concrete base with a metal cover on top,
i don't know who did this job ,but anyway the coustomer want to fix it .
there is 1 way i think about is dig a big hole to the rubber sheet,cut 1.5" abs pipe and connet a new shower drain,put back cerment,tile.
where i never have this situation before, do u guys have any idea

If you don't tear out the whole mess & do it right your next post will be "Home owner won't pay what do I do now?"

Maybe Angus can jump in here and explain how. He's one of the resident shower/tile pros.

Never touch any one eles pan unless you will be tearing everyhting out with a total redo and a minimum 2 rows of tile which will be over drywall so now you will tear it all out, cutomer can't afford let someone else own that piece of crap. you will be sorry if you just try to patch it.
