Sewer Vent Out The Wall.

I have a customer with an unusual request.

They had a sewer vent going through the roof of their house which hasn't ceased to leak, so they request a new vent going out the side of the attic wall.

The wall is nothing but sheet metal, and to reduce exposure to the rain I want to stick it out just underneath the roof's overhang. The question I have is how to seal the hole I will make through that sheet metal (unless a boot remains my only option).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Sewer Vent Out The Wall.

I think it would be better to address the leak where it is. Correct that and the problem will be solved.
