Installing A Sink Temporarily

Hello,

I'm trying to get my workshop to a stage where I can live there (I know it won't be glamorous but it beats living in my truck). I'm going to have a small efficiency kitchen and small bathroom with a lav. I'm curious to hear if it makes sense to hook up one of these 2 sinks temporarily while I finish things. If so, any ideas on how to do it in an intelligent way? I'm working by myself so folks get a sense of the project.

And if this is a foolish idea, I am open to that too...

I am making progress... just wondering.

Depends what you want to do with the sink. If it's just wash your hands, you can use the bowl rinse line from the toilet.

If you want to treat this like a lot of kitchen remodels, just set up a table with a stopperable sink, and a bucket underneath. Another table for the George Foreman, microwave, toaster oven, what ever.

Here's some irony, I'm about to drop off a corner shower, pedestal sinks, and a used kitchenette that has an electruc range top and undercounter fridge with sink and counter.

Sure, do it. Don't even think twice.

You could even buy something cheap and temporary from a habitat for humanity restore. Or pick something up free in your daily endeavors.

Edit: What problem do you have? Is there rough plumbing yet?

Donít people normally bring their work home? Youíve got it backwards!

If itís a temp thing, maybe rent a porta potty with a hand wash station, that might be cheaper over a years time than putting in a bathroom. After considering all the costs that is.

An insta pot is an amazing cooking tool, tons of pressure cooker recipes out there. You can make great food really fast.

So whats the skinny by the way?

Go to home Depot, grab the cheapest shower enclosure you can find, laundry sink and toilet....hook em up.

Re: Installing A Sink Temporarily

Don't think I've ever heard of a homeless plumber with a workshop. Why is a plumber asking how to do plumbing?

How are we supposed to know what's involved? I'm no plumber but if I had to put in a temporary sink I'd hook up water and a drain temporarily.

Re: Installing A Sink Temporarily

Why do you even need a sink? Well, If you really need one, and a small area, just a fish cleaning table. They have a drain pipe, just drain right into the toilet. Im more concerned about the shower.
