Bathtub Repair Course Interest

Hello, my name is Darryl. I have been repairing fiberglass, Gelcoat, and acrylic tubs and showers for the last 16 years. I have been thinking about putting an online course together to share and teach my expertise on how to fix scratches, burns, chips, cracks, holes and manufacturing defects. I know many of the Contractors and Plumbers I work with would like to know how to do this to both save them $ and possibly add a skill to give them a competitive edge. I’m just curious to see if this something that any other plumbers out there would like to learn about? And if so, is there any thing else that interests you to learn about repairing damaged bathtubs and showers?

Thank you for your time.

Re: Bathtub Repair Course Interest

This would be more useful for people who want to get into bathtub repair business.

I spoke to my plumber about this a while back why he not doing this and he said being in business almost 40 years he needed 2 repairs, one was when cleaning people scratched the tub trying to remove a sticker, the other time when the painter dropped a heat gun.
He said The one repair was $65 the other was $85 so it's not worth the time for training, buying tools, and have supplies drying out on the shelf.

Re: Bathtub Repair Course Interest

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it.

There are a few plumbers and contractors where I have done repairs for them once or twice over the 16 years I have been doing this. There are others that I’m doing repairs for on a weekly basis. Mostly new homes and condos. A few have mentioned how they would like to know how to this. A couple plumbers and wholesalers have tried to get one of there employees trained to fix tubs as well but have failed as the repairs are not acceptable to the homeowners. That’s where I started thinking that if there’s a few in my area that would like to know then there may be a some others out there.

I have had to replace two tubs in the last year that had issues, would like to take a course if you offer it.

Sorry, but this is market research--something we don't allow here.
