Sidewalk Cellar Door

Better left to the mason.....Or able carpenter?
Need to replace one in front of a store.
I have only replaced sloped ones.

Need more info, Tom. Steel or wood door frame? What's making you think it might be better left to a mason?

Tin, its one of those diamond plate sidewalk access doors. Its set in masonry. Probably not a big deal but I have never done one. Also not sure it welding of any angle iron is needed.

Ooh [making hex sign]. Nottaclue; never been involved with one. Makes it crystal clear why you're asking, though.

Looks like this. Any competent carpenter or Mason can get it done imo.

Re: Sidewalk Cellar Door

I would say hire a fab shop that's willing to do the demo/ install. They'll have everything on hand to do the job. Added benefit is if there was any mistakes in the measuring or fabrication of the door, there's no-one in between to pay for the downtime, fitters are already on site.
