For future reference if it helps... All buildings approved after 5/15/1975 under the Building Act 1975... all Fire Rated Doors required to have tags.
Any door which is being replaced after that day, also required to have tags on it. Any building which was approved before that date is not required to have the tags, but local municipality like Building or Fire inspector can require to have them on all Fire doors during plan revisions.
Yes I did educate him! I just cannot believe that he did not know the severity of that.
In full disclosure, it was his former project. Not an issue for me
I have worked for door suppliers for the last 20 years so I am well aware of fire tag requirements.
