Direct Buy Steel Studs

Does anyone have any experience with direct buying steel studs.
We are union so I need to work out the logistics of stocking since that would be on us now.
I know it varies on job size but I am on the fence on if the savings is worth not having the local customer service.

Not worth the trouble. Let the wholesaler warehouse and deliver them. Sure as heck you would stock up on something, then your next project would need something different.

Re: Direct Buy Steel Studs

The big drywall contractors around here (think $50mm revenue) keep job lot quantities of typical lg studs. I think they keep them for little jobs, like building a couple walls. They get just in time deliveries on all the rest of their jobs. As mentioned above, I think itís easier to let someone else deal with the logistics and stocking.
