Concrete On Top Of Concrete

I am going to put a curbless shower in a basement. Can I put dry pac on top of slab to create a "bump" to hold the water toward drain.

You still would use a waterproofing membrane. We just make the curb with 2 2X4 and cover with the membrane. The mud job is also placed over a sloped area with a membrane tied into the shower drain and the mud job over all of this.

Re: Concrete On Top Of Concrete

Look into the Kerdi drain and Schluters shower system for this.

He wants no curb.

Yes, you can place your mud over concrete by applying a wet paste of Portland and water or modified thinset on the slab as you go to bond it.

Mud...4 parts mason sand to 1 part Potland cement.
