Insulating Concrete Block Walls With Rigid Foam Board Question

What's the best way to apply rigid foam board to a concrete block wall in a crawl space. Would using concrete nails and caps work or is there a risk in cracking the block?

What's your fastening pattern on a 4x8 sheet Andrew? It seems that it wouldn't need much.

So no foam or glue behind the sheet, hold it up and sds through the foam and into the masonry? Then run a bead of foam down the edge of the sheet and put the next piece up and repeat?

After all installed you would run foam around the perimeter, and then tape seams?

We glue and screw ours.

You can't leave it exposed so something needs to be going overtop of it if its in a conditioned space.

Thanks for all the feedback so far. First time with a concrete block wall, usually worked in basements with solid poured concrete walls. Just wanted to make sure not to risk damaging the hollow block.
