Prat And Lambert Paint?

It looks like our local hardware store is going to Prat and Lambert. Never used it, or even seen it before. Is it a quality paint? What are the different brand levels to look for?

I remember that stuff. Haven't seen or heard of it in a long time.

I can't say about today, but historically it has been a good paint brand.

Re: Prat And Lambert Paint?

It used to be and is still considered to be the top of the line. It's the main brand I use. Unfortunately they're owned by SW. I use the Red Seal line for walls and woodwork and Pro hide Gold for ceilings. Accolade for exteriors.

The Red Seal line is probably the best covering paint I've used in years. Accolade is the top line, love it for exteriors but haven't been impressed with it on interiors.

Re: Prat And Lambert Paint?

I have not used P&L paint in over 20 years. It was top quality. As already said I know it is now owned by SW. I have not seen P&L paint in years.

I have no idea if SW have changed it in any way or if it is still the quality paint it once was. Paint has changed enormously in the last 20 years. To be honest I would base its quality on its price.
Cheap paint will cost more in the long run.

Last used it about 8 years ago. Pretty good stuff. Seems like they are trying to expand. Saw a commercial for it the other day.

Re: Prat And Lambert Paint?

From what I've been told SW has not changed the P&L line. I was just informed Accolade is in line to get beefed up with more solids. Everyone has a cheap line, their top Accolade isn't anywhere near cheap and I'm not impressed with the interior line. I don't base my opinion on price I wouldn't give 1 dollar for Behr top of the line, if I wanted to pay more just to pay more I'll just walk into SW.
