Re: Rich Maid Kabinets

I never purchased these but was on a job last year doing a bathroom. The homeowner had another guy doing their kitchen with these cabs and he pulled apart like 6 of them to fix and/or make square. Looked like a mess to me

PA is home to a lot of good cabinet companies... what level of cabs are you looking for?

Possibly Amish or Mennonite, so it could be that phone use is limited and/or non-existent. The pic in google maps looks legit. Maybe send them a letter, if you haven't already.

I'm doing a kitchen alteration so I'm looking to see if the manufacturer can offer stock pieces.

I've already got a quote for custom work but thought I'd give the manufacturer a shot if I could reach them.

Tom, there are good manufacturers in PA who deal wholesale (if you have enough business) but also have dealers in NJ...

Conestoga Wood Specialties
East Earl, Pennsylvania 17519
1-717-445-6701
www.conestogawood.com

Keystone Wood Specialties
Lancaster, Pennsylvania 17602
1-717-299-6288
www.keystonedoors.com

Kountry Kraft
Newmanstown, PA 17073
1-610-589-4575
www.kountrykraft.com

Elias Woodwork
275 Badger Ave, Winkler, MB R6W 1E4, Canada
1-800-665-0623
www.eliaswoodwork.com
Ask for Chantel Le Masurier (very knowledgeable and helpful)

Elias is in Canada, but make a great product and their shipping is ridiculously cheap. Depending on what you're ordering, they even have free shipping...

Conestoga Woods RTA's couldn't be more simpler to assemble or they can assemble them for you... and you have access to ALL their colors and designs... Conestoga is one of the main door companies that supply a lot of the cabinet manufacturers...

Outwater Plastics in Bogota, NJ (Phone: 1-800-631-8375) also carries a pre-assembled and RTA product...

You have LOTS of options...

Re: Rich Maid Kabinets

Conestoga Wood is one of the best imo. They basically sell you the doors and drawers etc... or find a cab maker that builds them for you.

Try the Cabinet Connection in Milroy, Pa. I recently did a backsplash on a job where they build the cabinets using Conestoga wood. They made a nice product overall.

Re: Rich Maid Kabinets

I did call them Todd. Its okay it is what it is. I have a local custom shop I was just going to give the original manufacturer a shot since for the possibility they had a stock cabinet in matching finish.

Matching the finish and style is generally not an issue for any of the above if you can provide them a sample... do you have a pic of the door/finish you're trying to match?

One thing to keep in mind, whether it's one of the above, or the custom shop, while they can match the style and color, the patina (i.e. - age, dirt, etc.) is a different issue. In most cases, it will look like a newer version of the old... might want to preempt it by making them aware of this before they commit to it so it doesn't bite you in the end...

No matter who you use, get a sample made that they sign-off on (make the sample size be the smallest one of the actual doors you're going to end up using so they don't end up paying for it twice).

If you were specifically looking for Rich Maid Cabinets, I found their contact info, but the phone number says it's no longer in service... owner was Robert Aungst...

If you think about it, a company without a website nowadays, is unlikely to be a stock supplier... they might be able to make it if they were still in business but from what I gathered they were a custom shop anyway...

There was another Rich Maid in Clearwater, FL (as a possibility they relocated), but their number has a voicemail box that is not setup... and they only listed Donald Roach, Exec Director... so most likely not...

If you have a pic of the door and drawerfront, it'll be easy to see what you're dealing with... out of the suppliers listed one of them should be able to make it...

Re: Rich Maid Kabinets

The investigation led to a company called Prevo' cabinets that either merged or acquired RichMaid.

I placed a call to inquire if construction details remained the same.
