Open Minded Customer Likes Counter Top Idea But Not Sure If It Will Work

Hey everyone, I was reviewing some ideas with a customer on there upcoming Kitchen remodel and discussing the counter tops and suggested using large stone tile to make the counter top with, then it occurred to me that one untapped resource might be pool table slate. Several of my high end idea books show slate counter tops in the kitchens.

I have heard this material can be very nice looking and and it would be very easy to fabricate.

Just looking for some input on this idea and to see if anyone has had any experience with this material.

I live in the Minneapolis MN area and there are a lot of free or cheap pool tables on Craigs list.

thanks Randal

Pool table slate is not that easy to fabricate at all it breaks easily.

Not the same grade as counter top material...

Very poor appearance qualities.

Probably be pretty good at seaming it by the time you get done.
