Inset Door Cabinetry

Is there a company like Kraftmaid or Shrock that sells cabinetry with inset doors instead of overlay? I have looked into Crown Point and Plain and Fancy but they are significantly more expensive. They are also custom cabinet companies. Thanks.

I believe Dynasty by Omega also makes inset door style cabinetry.

Re: Inset Door Cabinetry

Are you looking for the appearance of inset or the functionality of inset cabinets? If you're only looking for the appearance, consider full overlay cabinets.

Edit: Full overlay more nearly looks like European style - may not be the look you're going for.

Re: Inset Door Cabinetry

Non-custom cabinets with inset doors would have double stiles between the doors. That wouldn't look right to me. I've always thought of inset as custom only.

Re: Inset Door Cabinetry

The good brands let you combine cabinets to avoid that double stile and seam look. Omega (step up from Dynasty) will do that, and Showplace, and several others.

If you have access to Schrock then look at Decora for a semi-custom line that has overlay cabinets. It's still MasterBrand but a step up from Schrock.

Sorry, I meant to type "inset" but overlay came out. I was probably trying to subconsciously steer the OP in that direction.

Re: Inset Door Cabinetry

No matter how you slice it your going to pay a premium for inset doors ,
most run of the mill cabinet manufacturers up charge 15% . If you want an inset door with beaded rails and styles it's really going to cost you .

Re: Inset Door Cabinetry

Crystal is doing the cabs for my latest kitchen.

Beaded inset.

I think it was only a few points more of an upcharge.....maybe 10%.

Whole different ballgame than full overlay in terms of appearance IMO. Worth every penny depending on the job/style.

(The Crystal sales rep is a close friend, and a stone cold pro. I would never even consider a semi-custom shop doing them if it weren't for his involvement)

If it's inset I'll do them myself or get someone local.
