Acrylic Tub/Shower Repair

Aside from laying my steel-toes into the guy that thought it was a good idea to cut drywall using a brand new acrylic shower liner as a surface to cut against, I'm not sure how to fix scratches in acrylic surfaces. This is one of those cheap Maaaaax acrylic shower wall kits.

I know there are companies that can repair the stuff. I haven't found a product out there that repairs acrylic tub liners. Any ideas?

Regards, Michael

Re: Acrylic Tub/Shower Repair

Thought I'd ask one more time. Anything (good) to repair scratches/gouges in acrylic tubs/shower walls?

Thanks, Mike

How deep are the scratches? If just fine surface scratches try a product called gel gloss. It's a wax/polish for fiberglass items. You can get it in a hardware store.

One is a little deeper. More like a small gouge.

I know it's not what you want to hear but tub repair guys...good ones...can fix about anything. We have one that works for aker and does all the repairs for damaged units due to shipping or whatever wasn't our fault. We have had him do small repairs that sound like yours for $100. Maybe easier and cheaper than replacement....

Re: Acrylic Tub/Shower Repair

nah, not a bad answer - just hoping there was some acrylic 'nail polish' that might fix it... but I think a pro is the way to go here. Thanks.,
