VA License

Hello all, im new to the site and was looking for some personal insight to how exactly to become licensed in VA, the more information the better as far as Pre testing, testing, cost, what the board looks at, basically everything.
Ive been working residential construction for over 10 years now and would like to take the next step in my career and go off on my own. Ive been doing side work in TN for almost 2 years, but i feel im at the point now that i need/ want to be licensed and push my career to the next level.

Thanks in advance,
Mav
