Obtaining A GC License In Florida

Good evening Everyone,

I have a quick question I'm hoping someone can answer.
I am Current business owner and I am now pursuing my GC license here in Florida. I ventured out on my own , financially my personal finances took a big hit , which I knew could be a risk when getting into business for yourself. Speed things up, Still in business for myself and I am now financially stable , however I have debt stacked up and I am considering filing for Bankruptcy to wipe my past clean. Will this prevent me from getting my license or make it more difficult but still be able to obtain it? I am currently taking the 14 hr financial responsibilities course as well. Can anyone help answer thing question. If it's better to try and settle the debt over bankruptcy Ill exhaust that option. Thank you in advance!!

I'm gonna take a stab at this.

Haven't a clue what the laws are like in Florida, You'd be in abetter position to ascertain that.

So, you've mismanaged your finances, twice, and now are a failing realtor, and figure you'll become a "GC", so you can take up another link in the food chain, "GC" your own flips, and keep those train car loads of money that those "GC's" make as profit.

Yea, I see this going real well.

How'd I do??

No you didn't do very well. I am not a failing realtor. I run a successful team. When leaving the security of an employer to go work for myself, in the beginning was rough which caused me to fall behind. Now that I am doing better. I dont know which option to take being that my credit has already been impacted. So is it better to settle the debt or file bankruptcy. Didn't fail twice my friend. Most people are too coward to get outside of their comfort zones and stay in their so called miserable "secure" jobs where i wanted some thing more for myself

An open, active Bankruptcy will stop an application. Debt is not a problem. Public records are.
