Florida Business & Finance Exam

Hello everyone. I am taking the business & finance exam in Florida in a couple months and was wondering what is the best course to purchase. I am a pretty good test taker and do not think I need to go to a class, however I would like to obtain some practice tests, general study information, and apparently book tabs are pretty useful. What would you all recommend? I already have all the books.

Thanks for the help

Re: Florida Business & Finance Exam

pd10c:

I was back in college in 2010 with a 3.62 GPA, so my test-taking skills weren't bad.

My wife's former company sent several guys from Michigan, all very experienced in management and construction, to take the Florida tests. All failed.

I don't care how much experience someone has, if you don't enroll in the sit-in-class type schooling, you're unlikely to pass the proctored exam. You aren't learning construction, you're learning how to pass the test.

A licensed buddy of mine was dumbfounded that I passed all three tests on the first go round. Never would have happened without the class.

Camtech by far is the best option.

Re: Florida Business & Finance Exam

I'm new to Florida. Just took the tests. Passed all 3 first time around using the online coarse from CEI. The tests are definitely no joke. I've been a builder for 15+ years up north.
Couple pieces of advise:
-give yourself enough time to study (I put in about 160 hours)
-you are studying how to find the information in the books
-have a plan going into the test
-use all the given time
-stay calm and composed
-take as many practice tests as possible

I was able to get 85's (avearge) on all 3 test but I definitely put in the time. you will hate the contractors manual by the end

Also I have been very happy with Lisa from Licenses Ect. down in Naples. She helped me submit for the actual license and I'm hoping to have it any day now.

Good Luck

Re: Florida Business & Finance Exam

I know this is an old thread, but here's my 2 cents.

I passed all 3 tests (Cert Building), and definitely it's about knowing where to find the answers quickly.

Many of the books overlap, so for any given question you may need to search as many as 3 books for the answer.

I think there are close to 20 books total...so you gotta know the books inside and out.

Another thing...important...take food and refreshments with you if allowed (I think the business and finance test does not allow it, but the other 2 do allow it). I don't know many people who can stay alert for 4 hours at a time without a break and refreshments.

Re: Florida Business & Finance Exam

These tests have now started scaring me. Actually I am trying to pass the LSAT but not able to qualify it so now I am just trying my best in the preparations for third attempt. I have been solving the Practice LSAT Questions on daily basis so this time I have confidence to crack it somehow.
