Fast Track To Contractors License

Hi,
I'm in California. I'm interested in obtaining a limited specialty contractors license specifically for prefab equipment.
Does anyone know if there is a different track to becoming licensed in this area? I only have 9 months experience in this area...I need to be able to get a license within the next three months. Is this possible?
I appreciate any experienced feedback.

Ask the License Guru. He's the resident expert in California licensing.

Mike, he's new. He doesn't know the Guru.
You could have at least given him a link.

All classifications require at least four years of journeyman level experience in order to qualify for the exam.

What if his 9 months are working 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, for 9 straight months? Might work?

Re: Fast Track To Contractors License

Welcome to CT grstorage!

You can substitute some of the experience requirement with education credits. If you have a four year degree, that could equate to 18-24 months credit toward the 48 month requirement.

But with only 9 months of field experience, you'll have to wait awhile before you can qualify for the exam.

The good part is that there is no trade exam for the C-61/D classifications. Only the law/business test.

There is also the RME/RMO route, if you feel like having a business partner.

She's needing the D-34 classification. It can be extremely difficult finding a D class RMO/E.

I don't even know what that is.

Now I'm gonna have to go look it up.

Re: Fast Track To Contractors License

Can a B obtain the C-34? Yes, with at least four years of full time C-34 experience.

Can a B be a certifier on someone else's C-34 application? Yes.
