Rock

Visited daughter in Klamath Falls oregon. Operated excavator for 6 days while there for a local contractor putting in irrigation line. Dug more rock there in 6 days than I did in my 45 plus years here back in south dakota. Here's a few pics.

Re: Rock

You want rock, come to Muskoka. Rocks, trees and lakes is all there is here. We call those Muskoka potatoes. They are the main reason the pioneers gave up on farming in this area. A new crop popped up every year. lol

Re: Rock

So what did you do, walk up to the crew chief, tell him you were out West on vacation and want to do some work?

Did you get paid, or have to pay them to let you run it?

Re: Rock

Daughter's friends were over the night I got there. Her friend asked how long I was staying. Told her the projects daughter wanted done and would stay till they were done, daughter kicked me out, or I got bored.

Next morning phone rings, guy asks me if I'm bored yet. Daughters friend told this contractor she'd met me night before. he said that he could use an operator for week our so to get the irrigation line in before it got too cold.

Rest is history.

Thinking of buying a mini, something I can pull behind pickup, dig for plumbers, electricians, etc. No employees , park when I'm sick of it.

Try digging in Juneau Alaska. I did a foundation for a friends little garage and uncovered a 35,000 pound rock

with a 310

I do know that all too well. I've got a 16 and 14 year old. Great that you've got the time to do it!
