Re: E50 Bobcat

You wrote your local Bobcat dealer matched the used 1,000 hour E50 Bobcat excavator price of $44,000 for a brand new machine???
I asked for and received a price on a brand new Kubota KX057 2012 year excavator (12,000 pounds like the E50's 11,000 pounds) it was $70,500 with hyd thumb and five attachment buckets PLUS the sales tax.
The new tier four engine for 2013 has a price increase of $8,800 on top of the $70,500.
$44,000 for a brand new Bobcat E50 excavator vs $70,500 or $79,300!!!
What kind of mark up to these equipment dealers have to play with!
This just doesn't make any logic.
Just what was the price you finally had to sign for to get the brand new Bobcat U50??? What did you trade in???
I will tell you $70,500 or $79,300 PLUS sales tax for a mini excavator of 6 tons did surprise me. I have an older Kubota 6 ton excavator with low hours.

msrp is 68 on the E50, and in the 70s for the kubota
There are a couple of factors that drove the price down.
1) it was a 2012 model that was not sold yet, and a 2013 was on its way to the dealer. I also showed the dealer the many low hour machines in the USA for much less. 14 K discount
2) I paid cash which is another 5K discount
I'm a business owner so I get the tax back, but my final bill was 50K plus 13% sales tax

It's stolen. I'm reporting you.
What year is that?

I got a 2003 331D (cab a/c/heat) with three buckets and 3000hrs for 17.5k. Of course, we pay a 2-3k premium up here...
I heard a rumour yours was designed by Germans or built there...?

Like Joasis, I'd have to win a lottery to step inside a E50....maybe even for a 435 too....
Well, please share pics and observations of your new baby...Bobcat online only shows exterior shots of E50...engine/hyd compartments would be good shots
The front end tight?

BTW - jealous, but congrats.
I took some shots with phone camera. There is loads of room to service when its time. Unlike my MT 55 which requires the hands of a 9 year old to get at anything. Been great so far 40hrs on the machine now. We knocked a garage down, the thumb came in very handy.

Sorry had to shrink the files. I'll take some more of the interior when I get time.

Thanks!
Just love staring at engine and hyd compartment...like the tall sight glass for hyd reservoir. Everything is at bench height. Wonder how one gets down to the bottom pan to clean or pick up something dropped.
Strange it took them so long to put the filters in an easy location and how the rads are accessible to clean.

Its actually quite spacious onsidering its a mini. Here are some pics of the hammer and JD coupling I retorfitted for the machine. And loading the 2600lbs of fencing in one shot.

We were just rewarded 400ft of retaining wall and drainage to install. It doesn't start until June. I'll post pics

Re: E50 Bobcat

Just before the insert on the bucket portion. The straps were not going anywhere and it was one lift. I'm welding a lifting hook on the back of the bucket this weekend.

I traded my 12000lb trailer + 2100 cash for a new load write 14000lb trailer .
Its a little lite and a bit short 18' +24" DT but its working out ok.
I think the 435 cost me 14500 when the smoke cleared .
