Where to buy switching relays?

I have a Honeywell relay that crapped out on me. It's hooked up to my boiler and I kind of need to replace it ASAP. I can get it on Amazon, but it won't be here soon enough.

This isn't something I find at HD is it? Everything is closed for the weekend except HD

Honeywell RA89A is what I need.

I don't know, but maybe at the same place I get my self sealing stem bolts.

Why did I get this feeling I was going to get **** for posting this?

If you need it this instant I'd call local electrical and plumbing suppliers. I can probably tell ya where you can get one in Ottawa but I doubt that would help...

griz 12-16-2011 05:24 PM

Listed in Grainger.

But like Inner said try a local elec supply or HVAC contractor.

Kent Whitten 12-16-2011 05:34 PM

I did just call a builder friend of mine's HVAC guy and left a message.

We have a Grainger, but I doubt they are open Sat. I may have to wait until Mon. ATM, I have bypassed the switch, which powers my circulating pump.

Grainger has to have the biggest catalog I have ever seen.

Tinstaafl 12-16-2011 06:16 PM

Yeah, Grainger is only Mon-Fri. Tear the thing apart and fix it.

Many Grainger locations have an after hours number, call and somebody actually shows up to open the store for a fee.

Local electrical or HVAC supply house might have them too.

Ahhh....HVAC guy just called me. Local plumbing supply is open tomorrow until noon. Problem solved. Glad I didn't have to give my money to HD.

Inner10 12-16-2011 06:55 PM

Damn that means you have to get out of bed before noon!

Well....I found my problem.

Guess there was a short. Picked up a Taco 501 and putting it in now.

You replaced the whole gray box? I guess you might have to if they don't sell individual parts. Do you know what is actually bad in there? Most of those parts are pretty reliable. The contacts would be the most likely thing to fail.

For $70, I'm not messing with rebuilding this 20 year old hunk of metal.

The new one has pretty lights on the sides

The two contacts in the middle are just floating around and you can see where it shorted out, maybe not so much in the picture, but she's in pretty bad shape.
