Particle Duct...


Remodel we are doing and I saw this old ducting..

I've never seen particle board, painted on the inside, as ducting before. I told our HVAC guy about it and he wasn't surprised as he has seen it before.

I've never seen anything like this before. Just wonder if it wouldnt be the return air than the home owner would have to breath those dirty airs for their whole life.

Considering that un lined joist bays used to be used all the time for returns that is some clean work

The returns in my house are just the joist bays and drywall.
