Air Pressure Switch

I'm a professional handyman who needs a little help with a Teledyne Mini-Therm boiler JVi.

The boiler's problem is that I'm noticing excessive fan blower operation, long after the burner is out. I note that the igniter will turn on at times and then go out without the burner firing. I'm not surprised because no thermostat is calling for heat. My customer is complaining because she hears the blower running a lot of the time.

I suspicious of the air pressure switch because it appears to control operation of the blower but have to admit that I'm unsure of how it operates.

So the questions are:

How does the air pressure switch work?

Could the air pressure switch be playing a role in excessive blower operation long after the burner goes out?

Also, could just the fact that the blower is running play some role in my observation that the igniter will start up, then go out without the burner firing (again, in a situation when thermostats are not calling for heat)?

Thanks much for any useful comments!!

Re: Air Pressure Switch

The air pressure switch is a safety. It doesn't run the blower. It detects if the blower is running.

there is probably a short in the wiring somewhere.
