Home Control

Well I bought the kids an Echo Dot and smart plug for Christmas. Really amazing how powerful they are. For those of you with Big Brother fears run away now!

Thinking of adding a hub and some lighting controls. Right now leaning towards Samsung SmartThings hub and GE or Leviton Z-wave switches. Plus a Harmony Hub for my home theater control.

I like the Lutron Casetta but that would be a 3rd hub and more expense. Any of you guys or gals dabble in residential grade home controls?

Re: Home Control

Or Hubitat is another option I am looking at. I like that everything is locally stored and independant of the cloud for function.

Wasn't sure if I wanted to go Z-wave or Zigbee devices. It is on my list... really don't know if I want to have to have a hub or not either. Leviton wifi switches seem to work ok for what they are but they aren't the cheapest either.
