Thats a pretty good proposition, but a not a good trade for state income tax in my opinion. Im sure id disagree if i was retired on low fixed income.
My state income taxes aren't that high. You know a lot of the tax laws in this state were written way back when. It's the businesses that get hit hard from the counties. Like LA and San Francisco. Here in Orange it's not bad. The state hits the businesses with a lot of regulations, but not really the decking business.

Sure I could I build decks in areas where it gets butt cold in other states in the winter. Why would I want to and who the hell calls you when it's 25 degrees out in the middle of winter to build them a pretty deck? Is not going to be anything like the calls I get because it's 75 or 80 in the middle of January. I'd loose money in most states, lots of money. Regardless of the cost of living.

When it comes to paying for housing which is the biggest difference. That's really not a loss as much as it's putting money in the bank. I paid 200,000 for my home. I'll certainly get everything back plus any interest I paid when I retire.

I'm in the Houston area.
Property taxes are a killer in many towns around here.
Key is to be in the 'county'.
Such a huge difference, unless you can have an ag exemption...then it's cheap.

Very valid point.
Poor weather = inefficiency, higher cost, and slower sales.

We only have about 3 months of 'slower' sales months, but it doesn't grind to a stop. I attribute much of the slow down to the Holiday season.

I think most everyone here finally knows what your home's value is and what you paid for it.
It's said in advertising that it takes 7 impressions before people really see it...

You are annoying. I was making a point that some on here never seem to grasp. I'm really not trying to make my home out as how cool I am, however for those that keep telling me how bad I have it in Cali I'm going to point out the good points everytime. Remembe that, everytime.

The reason I keep talking about my home tells you how many times those on here feel the need to tell me how bad I have it. I will correct them with facts each and every time. That would include property values.

I am not talking to anyone in particular, I'm just saying that in the U.S. We have the freedom to live in any state we want to, so there is no need to argue about where is better or worse. Every place has its perks.

I agree on principal, but i wish Texas would pass a law that says if you are a transplant who lived the majority of your life somewhere else you cant vote for changes to the state or locale. Or take a test to move here Sick of hippies and idiots from two states in particular ( not all from those states by any means, lots of good people im sure, just a bunch of idiots) trying to screw us up here as bad as the place they left. Both of those states had/possibly have issues paying their own state employees because of their incompetence. Like to leave that crap where they came from.

Not to say transplants are bad. Just dont come to my play ground and start changing the rules. Unfortunately thats not the way it is.
