Light Activated Exterior Lighting

I have been searching for replacement light fixtures that turn on when its dark and off when its daylight. They would replace the ones on either side of the garage door.

Every search I do comes back with motion activated. Then the ambient light activated ones that I do find all look like commercial security lighting (doesn't quite match the style of the house).

Does anyone make decretive ambient light sensor exterior fixtures?

TIA

There are tonnes...just google photocell light fixture.

You can add a photocell externally if you want.

But I'd say photocell lights are antiquated since the dawn of lighting control systems that tie into the sun rise/set times of your GPS co-ordinates.

I put a timer in that automatically adjust for dusk to dawn and daylight savings time.

GE SunSmart.

So a system that needs to know your GPS lat & long and today's date is somehow 'better' than a simple photocell that doesn't care about either? "It gets dark, turn the lights on."

I've seen storms in the middle of the day that get so dark you wants the lights on. Does your fancy-dancy GPS system take that into account?

I get mine at Platt Electric. You can buy a photocell with a five year warranty, just make sure water can't get into them. Is this for your house? If its for a commercial building I'd advise a combination clock and photocell switch.

Re: Light Activated Exterior Lighting

I've installed these photo cells in garages on a box near the window.
Eye is turned towards the window then the shutter is adjusted.
A photo cell separate from the light allows you to choose any light you wish.

I am to lazy to but a box in at my home, so I went with the timer.
