You let someone work under your license, meaning they bid and do their own jobs and use your license? You can't pay me enough, get your head read and check to see if your insurances have stupidity coverage, thats a great way to get bit. That don't fly in CA
I would check with your licensing authority. I know it is illegal here and you will get your license yanked if caught. Everyman on my crews has to be individually licensed and working under me or I could get mine yanked. This is the case in most states that issue licenses.
Around here you would loose your license if caught. You will also accept full responsibility and liability for everything he does. Remember, the statute of limitaltions on code violations starts running when the problem is discovered. You could be buying some real long term liability.
when I first got my qualifications in NC a guy called who had just been fired from the company I was working for, at that time.
I was not home, so my wife got the call. He asked if I might be interested in activating my licence so that he could use it for doing some work.
My wife told him NO, without even bothering to ask me. She doesnt have a clue as to how to do electrical work, but can easily see that this is a bad idea.
I called the guy back and told him I would be glad to help him study to take the test.
Look at what has happened to our economy in the last two years. I should have just taken the two million, and all the insults thrown at me.....
I have a feeling that AVI just worded his question wrong. He can't possibly mean that he is actually considering staking his reputation, his license, his families' welfare, his business assets, his personal assets if not incorporated, and his livelihood on the promise of a couple bucks............CAN HE?
In situations like this don't people around here say:
