A/B Switching Question...

I don't know if this is nation wide but here most commercial lighting applications need to have the lighting a/b switchable.

What I was thinking about the other day is this....

This is for commercial only......

The JHA looks at the size/area to be lighted and mandates the amount of lumen's needed to illuminate.I assume this is to keep the place from being too dark in certain areas.Correct?

Then they make it mandatory to be able to turn off 50% of the lights with a/b switching to conserve energy...

Am I missing some obvious logic?
in texas with framing and cornish people will do it for 3.00 a foot. What do yall think about that? Just laber

Re: A/B Switching Question...

Nothing mandated in my area, but typically the 50% reduction in lighting would meet the minimum lighting level allowed, while 100% would be the lighting needed for the task.

JJ, What seems to be the up & coming thing is occupancy sensors. The POCO really pushes them & they are popping up on funnies more often.
