Re: Sheetrock To Plaster

You have to look at the TDS for Guardz to find out it's also for plaster and calcimine.

Calcimine is a big deal up here, since not much sticks to it for long.

Good to know.I just checked and yes it is. Thanks.
I've been using Plaster Weld for so long with good results. I don't think I'll switch anything now.

I wouldn't switch. IMO Plasterweld is probably better in that application. I tend to avoid things I have to soecial order, and both if those have been specual oder fir me at various times. If I'm already going to be using Gardz on a project, I'll just use it for as much as I can to keep the number of different products down.

I do a lot of plaster restoration type of work, and these days I don't use ceiling buttons very much, I use an acrylic adhesive caulk base for gluing the plaster to the lath, and thinned as a plaster consolidator. With crown, base, etc still in place, I can't add thickness in a lot of areas.

Different type of situation, different solutions.

Geeze, looking at your pictures I would just laminate new sheetrock over that mess and be done with it.
