Need A How To Inspect Ceiling List

Hi
I am needing a list of how to and how not to inspect the ceilings for imperfections. I have a contractor that likes to cut off all lights at night and take a spot light to inspect the ceilings for imperfections. Any help with a list would be appreciated
Thanks

What level of finish is specified? Ultimately, the man writing the checks can do his inspecting any way he wants.

Every customer wants level 5 drywall now but nobody wants to pay for it.

Up here drywallers want to be paid for level 5 but perform barely above fire-taping.

Grazing light inspection is normal. From there, everything goes by level. Tool marks are acceptable for all but level 5 finishes.

Change this to level 1 and 2 finishes only.
