Inner Drywall Corners - Failing Plastic Vs Paper Tape

I've fixed enough inside corners but today, visiting a job, were many inside plastic corners that were cracked and rippled, some clear through to the actual corner. Looked as if someone else before the turn of the century took a knife and slivered away the sides of them...

Giving so many of the corners were failing, as are quite a few horizontal seams, I'm questioning the framing that backs it . . .

I take it the plastic corners must be removed in entire sections. Pulling out partials of the hard inner beads and then paper taping overtop could get messy resulting in too-high-a-build... ?

I don’t know what you mean by plastic. Vinyl like straight flex?

Seems heavier than straight flex. But probably is vinyl.

Maybe it's me but I don't see any paper on these... looking at the "cuts" Would have to peel one off.

Probably 12 -15 yrs old or greater.

It's a condo actually. Some inner corners cracked/rippled most the length up.

If it was framed out correct (ea. side) then something really somehow moved. Don't think it explains the horizontal failures/cracks on the wall areas.

Could it have been put up "super green"?

We don’t have as many “movement” issues in Florida as you guys up North.
Not exactly sure what you have without laying eyes on it. I recall metal and plastic inside corner products but they were beads.
I’ve also seen paper corners “ripple”.

Good luck.
