Ask your concrete guy what he intends to about it.

He accepted the load...

There are three things one can guarantee about comcrete:

Its wet coming off the truck...

Its heavy...

Its going to crack...

You may have some leverage since it is not what was ordered...

But why didn't your guy check the ticket...

It will not delaminate unless you hard troweled it and pushed the little air pockets into the slab, just under the surface.
Air-entrained helps with the freeze-thaw cycles.

Air engrained or not, they can both be finished and cured.

Fine lines all over are most likely with a steel troweled smooth finish, but you get similar lines if it starts drying out before curing. Check with your mason.

I don't think air entrained is the end of the world. I would have gone ahead and smooth trowel finished it.

If the slab is bad, he needs to take it out and replace it to your satisfaction. I suspect something else is going on causing the slab to spider crack and deteriorate, but regardless it needs to be replaced. Hope you haven't paid him.

Looks like shrinkage cracks to me, how wet was the pour?

I hard trowel air entrained concrete all the time.

^^^ x2

How much air was in it?
I order low air (around 2.5%) for my garage floors and they get power troweled without issue.

You can power trowel air entrained, it's a bitch, but we've done it plenty of times.

You have to wait longer, then get a splashy with the water bucket to prevent peeling.

I usually specify "no air" for my floors, and of course they still ad air to it, but at a much lower amount. One supplier I use has special mix designs based on application, so they always ask what you are pouring when you order.

I don't pay much attention to the percentages.

Re: Contractor Poured Air Entrained For Pole Barn Slab

If the slab is flat and in otherwise good condition, I would ask him to polish it or find someone that can. Still work, but not as much work as jackhammering and doing it again.

Re: Contractor Poured Air Entrained For Pole Barn Slab

Honestly it doesn't matter to me not being being power trowled polished I its sealed and has an abrasive for traction I just wanted to make sure all those small lines arent going to pop and blister at some point
