Why not make part of the signing up process require you to fill out an introduction that gets automatically posted once the registration process is complete. I think that would lessen the possibility of homeowners signing up by not wanting to do a full intro and keep people from getting jumped all over because they signed up and not knowing forum etiquette, just post questions. Just a thought. Seems like a lot of people join never do an intro then post a question and get fed to the wolves and probably never come back. Just an idea.

Re: New Member Intros

Good thought, but bottom line, if we make too many hoops for new members to jump through, we won't get so many of them. I honestly don't think that lack of an intro causes people to get jumped on so much as the way in which they ask their questions.

Plus, since they removed posts counting in the intro section, there are far fewer people going there. Hate me for saying it, but it's true. If you reward certain post count benchmarks, expect members to go where they count.

Hard Hat Area
P&R section

And if we are on here all the time, how much of a life do we really have. And since MODs are tied to this place, guess they are more lifeless than the rest of us.
