Re: Extremely Slow Browsing

If you can let us know what time this happens and if you see anything hanging on to the status bar in the bottom left side I can ask teh techs to further investigate.

Thank you so much

Fewer ads = faster site.....

Charge more for eyeballs, = more gross $.

Test with old iron(phones and PC systems that are still in common use...

Re: Extremely Slow Browsing

CT is always slow for me, doesn't matter what device or connection. It's also the only site that crashes on my android tablet, and the drop down menus don't always respond. Oh well, you get your money's worth...

Re: Extremely Slow Browsing

I am new to the site and it is very slow. I am using a computer with chrome browser.

I really want to look into topics but it takes so long to load up and scrolling isn't smooth at all-very jumpy. Cleared cookies, still a no go.

Is the site always slow for you or only at certain times?

Are you using any plugins on your chrome browser? Like AdBlock or No script?

Is your Chrome up to date? and how do you describe the slowness? Does it take more than 15 seconds to load?

When I started using this forum with IE, I could feel myself growing old waiting for the pages to load, using Chrome has cut that time in half... time of day and day of the week doesn't seem to make much of a difference, I thought it would as I expected the CT server to be maxed out on weekends.

Lee, IMHO it has to do with the Flash... and when it hangs, sure enough the FlashPlayerPlugin seems to hang and if I end the process using Windows Task Manager, it will un-freeze it... have all recent versions...

I have installed ad blocker on Firefox so I don't know if Flash keeps recycling in attempts to make the ad work... when I originally installed ad blocker it solved the problem, but has since become a problem again...

Must be frustrating on your end, but honestly, given up trying to figure it out...

Re: Extremely Slow Browsing

Can you try and grab a screenshot of what you see when the flash player is hanging?

Re: Extremely Slow Browsing

Without a doubt CT is the slowest site I visit. Has been for a while now.

Many other sites have the same Commercial advertisements that jam up the site like CT does and they load just fine so I am pretty sure its not my machine or it's settings.

I can only reason this slow load is intentional so a person has to look at the ads longer. Just what I think anyway. If it was a flaw in your programs there has been plenty of time to fix it.

Just saying.

Re: Extremely Slow Browsing

I am not experiencing any issues.

Using: Windows 10 and Chrome fully updated. (I don't block ads.)

I also checked in Edge. As expected, Edge is slightly slower but still well within reason.

For those of you experiencing issues, please let us know details on how you are accessing the site.

Re: Extremely Slow Browsing

Try the CT mobile site in Chrome on an Android device...it's slow as molasses, and unresponsive at times, probably because of the gazillion ads, and or script errors...

Re: Extremely Slow Browsing

I just started using Tapatalk because my CT-skinned Tapatalk app stopped working. It's interesting to me that the higher powers at CT would encourage browsing on a platform that makes it so easy to jump ship for other forums. Content comes from users and CT has made it easier for their users to devote less "mobile time" to participating here.

Re: Extremely Slow Browsing

It works great on tapatalk.

It is horribly slow on my PC. Takes forever to load every page. I don't have problems with other sites.

Yes I tried it but it wouldn't install properly on Lollipop. I shouldn't have to use an app when every other forum works perfectly fine in Chrome browser.

Re: Extremely Slow Browsing

Well darn it, it just happened to me:

"A plugin (Shockwave) has stopped responding....."

This flashes in a text bar just below the url bar.

I'm using Chrome on a PC laptop.

Beforehand, the pages began loading slower and slower.
